Which is it? Yes the medication works for those nasty headaches.
It calms you down and lets you sleep better at night. It makes you
crave sweets and water. It causes you to retain water. But don't
stop taking it on your own or you will find yourself having a
crisis! I believe my next choice is to see an Eastern alternative
practictioner. There does not seem to be a valid solution to this
insane effect of an otherwise marvelous drug. I have taken the drug
for a year, 25mg, then up to 50mg because the 25 quit working, the
headaches returned and the sleepless nights also. The weight gain is
definately a side effect, and nothing seems to work to get it off,
save not taking the Elavil. It anybody out their that has an answer?
